There’s a not-so hidden pocket between Bungalow Heaven and Brigden Ranch that we have to talk about. It’s quickly becoming Pasadena’s next wave of culture, food, and community.
Bungalow Heaven
Bungalow Heaven, nestled in northeast Pasadena, is a celebrated enclave of early 20th‑century Craftsman-style bungalows. Although development began in the late 1880s, the neighborhood saw its defining growth between 1905 and 1920, spurred by Pasadena’s booming population and the arrival of trolley lines extending into the foothills.
Community stewardship preserved this historic character in 1989 when residents succeeded in designating Bungalow Heaven as Pasadena’s first Landmark District. It was later added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, with recognition from the American Planning Association as one of “America’s 10 Great Places” in 2009.

Brigden Ranch
Brigden Ranch has roots in the late 19th century agricultural history of the area. Albert Brigden, a New York native and Civil War veteran, purchased 135 acres of land from the old Fair Oaks Ranch in 1876.
Initially, the area was used as a vineyard before being transformed into a residential community in the 1920s. The Brigden Ranch neighborhood is situated at the head of North Craig Avenue, which was once part of the original Brigden estate.
